Frequency vs count in the Y axis

When we were discussing the Sachin’s score across matches, we were mentioning about his score in the Y axis and matches in the X axis. This we called as frequency histogram

But from our initial understanding, frequency is nothing but number of occurrence of an event. Similar to number of red shirts in the lot or number of Medium size shirts in the lot. if this is true, Y axis should only have the frequency and not the absolute count.

Got bit confused here. A clarification would help

Hi @arsiva,
Here Matches refers to the number of matches in which sachin scored those runs.
Number of matches is same as the frequency for a particular score.
One thing to correct here, Matches are in Y-axis and Runs are in X-axis.
